Then he said, “I am the LORD your God, and I cure your diseases. If you obey me by doing right and by following my laws and teachings, I won’t punish you with the diseases I sent on the Egyptians.” (Exo 15:26 CEV)
Has the enemy tried to put you under condemnation by telling you that it goes against your faith to use doctors and medicine when you need healing? If so, I have some encouraging words for you.
It’s God’s will to heal you. Period. That’s the first and most important thing to understand. If the faith living inside you is strong and you can believe the Word without wavering, then you’ll be able to receive that healing by faith alone. Understand that you must stand strong regardless of what circumstances or symptoms come against you.
But that kind of faith takes more than just hearing a sermon or two about healing. It requires a deep personal revelation of God’s healing power. It’s of utmost importance to daily meditate scriptures on healing. I personally recommend Isaiah 53:4-5 and Psalm 103:1-5. At a bare minimum, also say out loud something along the lines of: “I am redeemed from the curse.“
Surely He has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was on Him; and with His stripes we ourselves are healed. (Isa 53:4-5 MKJV)
Also:
Bless Jehovah, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name.
Bless Jehovah, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits;
who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases;
who redeems your life from ruin; who crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercies;
who satisfies your mouth with good; your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. (Psa 103:1-5 MKJV)
Now, if that level of faith isn’t yet developed within you, the doctor is your best friend.
If you’re not certain if the faith living inside you is strong enough or if you should see a doctor, follow the instructions of the Apostle Paul and let peace be your umpire.
Each one of you is part of the body of Christ, and you were chosen to live together in peace. So let the peace that comes from Christ control your thoughts. And be grateful. (Col 3:15 CEV)
If fear rises up within you when you think about doing without medical help, then go to a doctor… and go in faith! On the other hand, if you have a sure confidence within you that healing is yours strictly by faith, let your faith do its work and receive your healing directly. Whether or not you go to the doctor is not the issue. It is what you do with your faith that matters.
Either way, you can rejoice knowing God is working with you, meeting you at the level of your faith. Thank God for your healing—however it comes!—and do not let the enemy put you under condemnation. It’s none of his business!
